The EU-funded Marie Curie Initial Training Network "ITaRS - Initial Training for atmospheric Remote Sensing" brings together a group of universities, research organisations and high-tech companies from different disciplines, e.g. meteorology, geosciences, physics, electrical engineering and mathematics. 16 young researchers are trained in the area of remote sensing of the atmosphere, over a period of four years. ITaRS is coordinated by Susanne Crewell, professor of meteorology in Cologne.
