The campus of the University of Cologne is constantly changing. The University of Cologne is in the - for German universities - almost unique position of being the owner of its real estate and thus responsible for its structural infrastructure. We have developed the "Construction Masterplan" to fulfil the requirements of research, studying and teaching. Approximately €1 billion will be available for this purpose by 2030.
The main objective for the next few years is to optimize the location and bring individual departments together.
The implementation is based on the planning. Construction measures such as the new Student Service Center contribute to improving studies and teaching. Other projects create new opportunities for research, such as the research center on aging-associated diseases CECAD.
The individual optimisation measures build on each other and contribute to a long-term restructuring of the campus.
